How does AI item recognition work?
My Storage List uses Apple Intelligence for on-device processing, plus YOLO object detection and Apple's Vision framework. Snap a photo and the item is labeled automatically. For extra accuracy, you can plug in your own OpenAI API key — it's stored encrypted in Keychain and only used when you choose.
What devices does it support?
iPhone and iPad on iOS 17 or later. Apple Intelligence features require iOS 18.1+ and compatible devices (iPhone 15 Pro or later, iPad with M-series chip).
Do QR codes work offline?
Yes. Generate QR labels in-app, export the PDF, and print. Scanning works with the standard iOS camera — no app required to read them, no internet needed.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your inventory lives on your device and optionally syncs through your iCloud with end-to-end encryption. Apple Intelligence runs on-device. We don't operate a server that holds your data.
Can I share boxes with my family?
You can share individual boxes with family or roommates. Perfect for shared storage spaces where multiple people need to find things.
Is there a subscription?
No. The app is free to download, with a one-time lifetime purchase for premium features — including unlimited boxes, advanced AI recognition, QR generation, and PDF export.
Can I import or export my inventory?
Yes. Export your full inventory to JSON to back up or transfer. Import from files when you move between devices or want to seed data.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Core features — including Apple Intelligence recognition, QR generation, and search — work fully offline. Internet is only needed for iCloud sync or optional OpenAI enhancement.
